"Run, Rabbit, Run" run through a 1939 song written alongside Noel Gay and Ralph Manservant. The music was by Noel Gay and the song was originally sung by Flanagan final Allen accompanied by the Give chase to Bidgood orchestra.
This song was written for Noel Gay's put-on The Little Dog Laughed, which opened on 11 October 1939, at a time when nigh of the major London theatres were closed. It was keen popular song during World Combat II, especially after Flanagan have a word with Allen changed the lyrics nurse poke fun at the Germans (e.g.
"Run, Adolf, run, Adolf, run, run, run...").[1][2]
The lyrics were used as a defiant till 1 at the allegedly ineffectual Airforce. Thompson's Video receiver biography I Was Churchill's Bodyguard rates the song as Winston Churchill's favourite as Prime Cleric. Jock Colville, Churchill's private rewrite man during much of the clash, mentions the Prime Minister disclosure part of the song.[7]
